Mahamrityunjaya Yagya – for prosperity, health, and the fulfillment of desires,
Gopal Sahasranam Yagya
Yagya Announcement: Gopal Sahasranam Yagya
Gopal Sahasranam Yagya, 21 pandits, 21 days, 1-August to 21-August, 2026
The Gopal Sahasranam Yagya is dedicated to Gopala, the young Krishna of Vrindavan. It runs from August 1 to 21, 2026, and will be performed by 21 pandits over 21 days. Its text is the Gopala Sahasranama, the thousand names of Krishna, which appears in the Sammohana Tantra as a dialogue between Shiva and Parvati.
The yagya is undertaken to deepen the yajamana’s devotion to Krishna. Where some yagyas address a specific difficulty, this one is directed at the relationship itself. The names cover Krishna in his forms as cowherd, child, and lord of Vrindavan, and chanting them holds attention on him across the full 21 days. The purpose is to draw closer to Krishna rather than to resolve a single problem. Traditionally its benefit is to bring prosperity, health, and the fulfillment of desires.

At the center of the yagya is the Gopala Sahasranama Stotram. In the Sammohana Tantra, Parvati asks Shiva which prayer he recites again and again, and he answers with these thousand names, naming Narada as the rishi who carried the hymn into Kali Yuga.
Shiva tells her the recitation is chanted above all for bhakti, devotion to Krishna, and that it also grants liberation and the fulfillment of desire. The yagya sustains their recitation on the yajamana’s behalf across the 21 days.
Traditionally, the yajamana is said to gain a steadier devotion to Krishna, and the text names liberation and the fulfillment of desire among the results of the recitation. The 21-day form lets that effect build rather than pass in a single sitting.
Pandit Jaikrishna, whose Jyotish guidance has informed many of our yagya offerings, has identified this period as one in which this yagya is particularly appropriate.
