Lord Vishnu: invoking stabilizing influences to clear obstacles and restore balance
Vishnu Yagya
Yagya Announcement: Vishnu Yagya
Vishnu Yagya May 5–May 15, 2026. 7 pandits, 11 days.
The Vishnu Yagya is a Vedic yagya dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe in the Vedic tradition. Rooted in the Rigveda and elaborated across the Puranas, Vishnu is understood as the sustaining force behind cosmic order, the deity who intervenes in worldly affairs to restore dharma when it is threatened.

This yagya is performed to invoke Vishnu’s preserving and stabilizing influence. It is traditionally undertaken when the yajamana seeks protection, the removal of obstacles, and the restoration of balance, whether in health, relationships, livelihood, or spiritual life. Where other yagyas address specific crises, the Vishnu Yagya works broadly, supporting the conditions under which a life can be lived well.
The heart of the yagya is the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama, the thousand names of Vishnu drawn from the Mahabharata’s Anushasana Parva. Each name carries a distinct attribute of the deity. The Sahasranama is traditionally chanted for protection, the resolution of karmic difficulties, and the cultivation of sattvic qualities in the yajamana.
Traditionally, the yajamana can expect relief from obstacles, steadiness in daily life, and support for long-term well-being. The Vishnu Sahasranama is specifically said to confer protection from fear, clarity in decision-making, and gradual purification of karmic patterns that obstruct progress.
Pandit Jaikrishna, whose Jyotish guidance has informed many of our yagya offerings, has identified this period as one in which a Vishnu Yagya is particularly appropriate. Those who follow his counsel will recognize the significance of that recommendation.
